Personality:
Makoto is a very friendly, outgoing and smiling kind of guy. He has always been smiling and it’s very rare that the smile leaves his lips. He doesn’t hide anything behind that smile, he just smile. He is however pretty dense about a lot of things, and the biggest thing is love. He has been in love many times but he just couldn’t keep it up. He has no idea when and how to flirt, nor does he realize when someone is flirting with him. In short; you have to tell him straight out what your intentions are or else he really won’t get it. With his denseness comes his naivety too. He can’t see much bad in other people before it’s too late, so a lot of people, including some of his students, will take adventage of his pure and kind nature. 

With all that said, he is a very hard and serious worker and loves what he does. He loves being a teacher and it was the best day of his life when he finally graduated from university so he could start to teach. He likes to see his students learning something new everytime he has them. He will stay behind to finish the last part of work, he will stay behind if students need his help. He will do anything for his beloved students.
And of course that’s the same for his family and friends.

 Bio:
Makoto grew up in a middle class family with his parents and 2 older brothers. Both parents were working, his father fulltime as a typical salary man and his mother part time in a store in a big shopping mall. Makoto grew up without missing anything in his life; he was loved by his parents and protected by his brothers. Or maybe it was more like overprorected by his brothers. They would always be around him both of them or at least just one of them. They never let him out of their sight. And that’s one of the reasons for his denseness, he never really experienced the world on his own. When he was old enough to go to school, he was bullied the first day because of his many freckles all around on his face, arms and legs. However his homeroom teacher came to help him and since that day he had always admired teachers and his dream was to become one too. 
During his school time he was still protected by his older brothers, who would beat up everyone who even dared to bully their precious little brother. He didn’t have many friends, as people didn’t dare go near him because of his brothers, however he did grow up to become good looking. The girls were all over him and he was confessed to a lot of times, but he was always dumped shortly after. The reason? He was way too dense and didn’t get any hint the girls gave him. He wasn’t good at giving them compliments either.

All the back luck with girls stayed with Makoto all the way until university where he was more independent and lived on his own. But he still couldn’t hold a girl. Whenever it took a turn to get more serious and include sex, he was dumped right before he found himself ready to take that step. The reason this time? He was too slow to take the first step and too dense to take a hint from the girl. 
During high school he got interested in art, but no matter how hard he tried, he could do anything. Makoto was so to speak hopeless. So when he entered university he majored in Art History. That way he could still have something with his big interest, just with a little twist. But of course he grew very found of that major and got all passionate about it. To get experience he took a part time job as a home tutor for elementary school and high school kids. He got praised by the parents for always doing his best and being passionate by what he did. That just made it even more clear for him that he had to be a teacher.

At the age of 21 Makoto graduated from university with almost full marks, which gave him a lot of opportunities, and with all the good recommendations from parents and his teachers, he was sure he could get a job in no time. But of course that’s not reality. 6 months and over 50+ job applications he finally got a job offer at a high school in his local town. He stayed there for 6 years. He liked it very much and was found of the students and the students liked him as well.
However after those 3 years the principal recommended Makoto to the high prestige high school Ongaku Academy, and when he was offered a job he accepted. It was with a heavy heart thou, as he knew he would miss the students.

He then started teaching Art History at OA at the age of 27, enjoying how talented all the students were. He would get even more passionate about this work. He would help every student, also those who was in the art course. If they needed help, he would be there. However he never was able to keep a girlfriend nor even get married.. so he ended up as a virgin.

When he started working at OA he never really got close to any of his colleages, except from one; Ando, Takumi.
During his university years he did hear about him and had seen some of his works and he was a big fan. So when he learned that his idol was working at the same school as him just made it all better. They ended up talking a lot together, mostly about art thou, and got really close friends because of that.
